About Horsethief Canyon

According to folklore Horsethief Canyon was once a secret hideout for a band of horse thieves in the 1800’s. A more wholesome use was found for this peaceful scenic canyon later in 1989. Presley Homes developed it and today there are over 1,900 homes in Horsethief Canyon Ranch. It’s a wonderfully close knit community for families and retirees.

Homes here are surrounded by the Cleveland National Forest and residents love being able to start their hiking retreats within minutes of their back doors. The community enjoys low HOA fees and open floor plans. The Regional Sports Park is close by as well as fine dining and shopping. Beautiful single- and two-story homes are available, with the perfect backyards complete with built-in barbecues, covered patios, and spas for family and friends to enjoy. Many of the homeowners enjoy an abundance of upgrades and amenities. Residents seem to particularly love the large garages and beautiful landscaping.

This master planned community has something for everyone including a gym, basketball court, tennis courts, track, nature trail, gardens, and dog park. HOA fees also cover aerobic and yoga classes as well as two pools with spas. Youngsters love having their choice of four playgrounds.

Students have one of the best in education options with Luiseno Elementary, a K-8 award winning school. Many community events are held throughout the year. Christmas time is one of the most elaborate celebrations with Santa visiting and snow brought in for sledding. The Ranch also has its own sports fields where little league baseball and soccer is played. Families can spend most of their time in the community but there is also a freeway nearby for easy access to grocery stores, medical centers, and entertainment.
